Color duplex ultrasound

Although almost 90% of all diagnoses of leg complaints can be made on the basis of clinical examination, Doppler ultrasound measurement and determination of the venous refill time, questions still remain unanswered here and there. In these cases, a completely new, elegant and also completely painless examination method is available – the duplex. This procedure has largely replaced X-ray contrast imaging, which is usually perceived as unpleasant; a color ultrasound image now provides valuable information about the function and blood flow in the veins, the appearance of the venous valves and possible thromboses.
