Does the treatment lead to new spider veins?
Some patients have the feeling that new spider veins appear during treatment. It is not uncommon for them to believe that this has something to do with the foam sclerotherapy and/or laser treatment. In most cases, this observation can be explained by the fact that the patient's own legs are perceived differently or more accurately after treatment has begun: Suddenly, ugly spots that have been present and visible for a long time become noticeable for the first time.

Do spider veins reappear even after successful treatment?
Spider veins can reappear at any time, of course always in a different place. However, it is known that the earlier the spider vein treatment is started, the longer the results last, i.e. the fewer spider veins were visible on the leg.

Can spider veins be prevented?
Unfortunately, there is nothing sensible that can be recommended as a preventative measure. It doesn't matter whether the legs are crossed; whether someone is "fat", moves a lot/little or smokes; whether a person frequently goes out in the sun or avoids it... All this advice, tips and wisdom have proven to be nonsense. Only wearing extremely tight, thigh-high compression stockings (class IV) in summer and winter would prevent the appearance of spider veins. However, this restricts the quality of life to such an extent that nobody is willing to do this.

Are elastic stockings really not necessary?
Wearing rubber stockings is NOT necessary with our spider vein treatment methods. The adhesion reaction of the vessel after the foam and/or laser treatment is so strong that it is not necessary to apply additional compression.
